Where the software goes to work
Four situations we see in almost every facility that moves to IP. Each one is solved with the gateway, the probe, or both.
Remote contribution
A reporter in the field, a remote studio, a sports venue: the feed arrives over the public internet as SRT, RIST or WebRTC. The gateway decodes it and puts it on the production network as ST 2110 video, audio and ancillary flows, so the switcher and multiviewer see it like any local camera.

Distribution and media delivery
Program output has to leave the building: to affiliates and partners as SRT or MPEG-TS over UDP, to a monitoring point in another city, or to an OTT platform as HLS. The gateway encodes ST 2110 flows once and delivers them in every format needed.

Monitoring and operations
An ST 2110 network carries hundreds of multicast flows, and nothing in the picture tells you which one is about to fail. The probe watches all of them: presence, SDP, PTP lock, packet loss, jitter and bitrate, with alerts and history for the engineering team.

Hybrid SDI and IP facilities
Few facilities switch overnight. During the transition the ST 2110 core lives next to compressed IP workflows and older equipment. The gateway is the seam between the two worlds, and the probe confirms that the new core behaves before anything goes on air through it.

Commissioning a new installation
Before a new IP facility is signed off, every flow must be present, every clock locked and every stream matching its SDP. The probe produces that evidence in one view, and keeps it as the baseline for later operations.
